The Village of Princeville was incorporated in 1874. Princeville is part of the Peoria Metropolitan Statistical area, and is located just 15 miles from the city, an urban population center of more 350,000. Princeville is linked by Interstate 74 and State Highways 90 and 91. The Burlington Northern - Santa Fe railroad passes along the village’s south side.

Princeville Area residents work to maintain its friendly, safe, clean and diverse image. The village, with its active and prosperous downtown, strives to enhance its economic vitality through retention and expansion of local businesses, new job creation and tax revenue. The people seek to build a modern infrastructure to support growth, while maintaining its small-town charm and sense of family and community.
