Regular Board Meeting

Tuesday, January 16, 2007                 7:30 PM        Princeville Village Hall

The Village Board met at the above time and place.
The meeting was called to order by President Stahl at 7:30 PM with the following members answering roll call; Sutherland, Rasmussen, Troutman, Koller, Barrington and Knapp. A quorum was present for the meeting. Notice of the meeting and the agenda were sent and received in a timely manner. Staff present was Village Clerk Rasmussen, Supt. Of Public Works Gardner, Sec./Treas. Hofer, and Deputy Breitbarth.

Police report: Deputy Breitbarth reported that Three ambulance calls occurred, a Motor vehicle accident with a hit and run was reported, Two Traffic tickets were written, a
Business reported some stolen products, a Domestic battery of a person occurred, and a Drunk and disorderly subject call was handled.

MS Benefit request: Jamie Rickey on behalf of Jennifer Kraft was requesting that the village support a MS benefit on April 21, 2007 at Stevens Square Park, and close the 100 block of both W. Main St and W. Evans St along with 200 block of N. Tremont Ave. to assist with a Car Show. There will be food in the park and a Band will play.
Motion by Rasmussen with a second by Koller to donate $180.00 or pay the cost of the Port pots. Roll call vote. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Troutman, Koller, Barrington and Knapp all voting aye. No nays. Motion passed.

Treasurers report: Motion by Sutherland with a second by Rasmussen to accept the treasurer’s report for December 2006 and to place it on file. Voice vote. All ayes. No nays. Motion passed.  IDOT will audit the Village books in March 2007.

After Prom donation: Motion by Rasmussen and second by Sutherland to give the After Prom Committee a donation of $200.00 and four swimming pool passes. Roll call vote. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Troutman, Koller, Barrington and Knapp all voting aye. No nays. Motion passed.

Committee reports: The “Burning Ordinance” with revisions is before the board at the next meeting, February 5.
The property committee is meeting with a local business person, with a positive attitude and will be resuming communications with the board.

Building permits:               None

Seneca Foods report: Seneca foods would like to have a street vacated and be able to build a 40,000 square foot warehouse east of there present facility. This would require an Ordinance, survey, monetary commitment, and the retention of easements for water and sewer by the village, also a variance to occupy over 50% of the property in an industrial status.  August of 2003 was the last discussion and board minutes.

Airport Authority meeting: Attended by President Stahl; the airport is asking to include all of Peoria County as a taxing body. This will be done by legislation, in Springfield, to expand the taxing body, which they are estimating they will receive $500.000.00 more fee’s from the addition of the taxing district.

Maintenance Building: Cost of a 36’x43’ building was contractor estimated at $45,000.00 - 48,000.00. Additional contractor cost is being sought.
Building specs are still needed before bidding is opened to contractors.

Supt. of Public Works: The power was out at the sewer plant for two 1/2hours due to a tree down, and the back up generator started and ran the plant during that period.
The Ford Dump Truck had the transmission replaced, Parts free, with Labor cost of $1500.00.  The ordered Stop signs have come in and need to be installed.

Other business:  Carol Merna from Ray LaHood’s office contacted Trustee Janet Rasmussen about possible grant monies available for local projects. A meeting is to be set up to find out more about various programs.

Adjournment: Motion by Knapp with a second by Troutman to adjourn the meeting.
President Stahl adjourned the meeting at 9:35 PM.
