Village Board Meeting Minutes
January 3, 2005
7:30PM

The Princeville Village Board met on the above date at the Village Hall. President Stahl called the meeting to order. The following members answered roll call, President Stahl, trustees, Sutherland, Rickey, Rasmussen, Knapp, Troutman, and Koller.

December Minutes.

Motion by Rasmussen, second by Koller to approve the minutes from the December 6 and 21 st meetings as presented. Voice vote, all ayes motion carried.

Treasurer's Report: Sue Hofer.

Tabled until the January 18 meeting, due to new computer program being installed.

Motion by Knapp, second by Rickey to approve the payment of the December bills and additional bills. Roll call, 6 ayes, motion carried.

Pay request: Walker Excavating .

Motion by Rasmussen, second by Rickey to approve the pay request from Steve Blust, BCZ Engineers, to Walker Excavating for the work on the Woertz Rd. water main extension, in the amount of $47,247.88. ( $5247.77 held for 10% retainage) The total bill is $52,497.65. The retainage amount is sufficient to cover spring restoration work. Roll call, 6 ayes, motion carried.

German-Bliss Lease :

Motion by Koller, second by Sutherland. to pay $10,503.50 annual lease payment for the New Holland end loader, due August 2004. Discussion, first invoice was not received until December 2004. Roll call, 6 ayes, motion carried.

Committee Reports :

Property : Met with Kosta Demetreous and welcomed his business proposal.

Mr.Huff, owner of the old Schupp Blg., has Mark Briggs, Statewide Properties, is doing the repairs needed. Work should start within 2 weeks.

No building permits.

Dept. of Public Works: Chad Gardner .

  • With heavy rains and frozen ground, the sewer pumps have been running.
  • NPDS permit is approved, no alteration on the discharge in North Creek. Permit is for 6 years, will allow lines to be run to Brockway Hills in the future.
  • Trustee Knapp questioned the replacement of the transmission on Chad 's truck and if they were offering any type of deal at Wyoming Motors.
  • Closed water valves at both the East and downtown gas stations that are shut down.
  • Stop signs replaced at South and Cottage Grove Sts.
  • Several vacations days being taken by employees prior to the end of the year.
  • $3200 bill received for replacement of the computer that runs the RO system.
  • Pump in South water tower has been rebuilt and will be replaced in the spring.
  • Canning company is not building the warehouse as planned. Changing the camp and bringing single men in to work, no families.

General Concerns:

  • Dog ordinance should be published in the Advertiser along with registration and fee requirement.
  • Mike Kraft, Village attorney, notified President Stahl the letter to Daily and Associates attorney, Gary Nelson had been sent, with the Village willing to settle for $215,000. Response by January 7, 2005 .
  • Discussion on delinquent water bills, shutting off source of supply if not paid within 30 days of the due date Board would like a print out of delinquent bills.

Motion by Rickey, second by Troutman to adjourn at 8:35pm . Voice vote, all ayes, motion carried.
