Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting

Monday February 4, 2008           7:30 PM            Princeville Village Hall

The Village Board met at the above time and place.
The meeting was called to order by President Stahl at 7:30 PM with the following members answering roll call; Trustees Sutherland, Rasmussen, Troutman, Koller, Barrington and Knapp being present. A quorum was present for the meeting. Notice of the meeting and the agenda was sent and received in a timely manner. Other staff present was Village Clerk Rasmussen, Supt. of Public Works Gardner, and Police officer Breitbarth. Sec. /Trees Hofer were absent.

Police report: A DUI arrest was made; a Hit and run Motor vehicle accident occurred; a Residential Fire occurred. Village president Stahl asked the police to enforce the Parking Ban on streets during and after a snow fall of 2 inches or more, until the snow is removed.

Approval of minutes as published:
Motion by Barrington and a second by Troutman to approve the minutes as published. Voice vote. All ayes. No nays. Motion passed.

Treasurer’s report tabled, Hofer on vacation.


Paying of bills:
Motion by Rasmussen with a second by Koller to pay the bills and place on file. Roll call vote. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Troutman, Koller, Barrington and Knapp all voting aye. No nays. Motion passed.

CCOP report:
The group brought up a concern that a lot of business owners were not cleaning their sidewalks after snow storms and would like the Village to send a letter asking that the walks be shoveled after snows. The three letters sent out to property owners about junk cars, one was partially done and will be done by Feb. 5th. One called on Feb 4th. And need 2 more days, and one no response was done.

Jennifer Kraft regarding a MS Benefit:
Jennifer and committee ask that a benefit for MS could be held again this year at Stevens Square on April 19th. 2008 and would require closing of Main St., Tremont Ave., and Evans St around the Park  and a donation from the Village.($200.00) Motion by Troutman and a second by Knapp to permit a MS benefit on Apr. 19th. And a donation of $200.00 is provided by the Village. Roll call vote. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Troutman, Koller, Barrington and Knapp all voting aye. No nays. Motion passed.

Colette Rees asking for a donation for the grade school playground equipment:
Motion by Sutherland with a second by Koller to provide a donation of $300.00 for the playground equipment. Roll call vote. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Troutman, Koller and Barrington all voting Aye. Knapp voting Nay. Motion passed.

Building permits: none.


School District 326 request of TIF I payment for 2006-2007:
request was sent to the Village attorney and the Village TIF I attorney for completion.

Committee reports:
License committee looking at a possible $5.00 fee for dogs and adding Cats to the ordinance. Also looking at the peddler’s license, to include water merchants and ice cream/food vendors.
Property committee will meet on Feb. 21st. At 7:00 PM at the village hall and the Cutters grove park needs some swing updating in the play area.

Supt. of Pub Wks:
Plowing snow has been consuming time and effort; Painting of the new maintenance shed interior is continuing and they ordered shelving for the shed to keep it orderly. Waiting on Village engineers estimates on blacktopping around the maintenance shed and the curb and gutters in the 100 block of Town Ave.

Other business: Lopez Construction of Illinois, The contractor redoing the village hall will finish the job when the weather breaks.

Motion by Knapp with a second by Troutman to adjourn the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned by President Stahl at 8:55 PM.
