Village of Princeville July 17, 2007 7:30 p.m. The Princeville Village Board met on the above date at the Village Hall. President Stahl called the meeting to order with the following members answering roll: Sutherland, Rasmussen, Koller, Barrington and Knapp. Trustee Troutman and Village Clerk Rasmussen were absent. Police Reports: Deputy Breitbarth went over police reports for the Village. The High School’s drivers ed car had been keyed, 4-wheelers have been running on Woertz Rd. and other reports were mentioned. Citizens Report: No members were present at the meeting. Appropriations Ordinance: After reviewing the ordinance, a motion was made by Barrington and seconded by Koller to approve the annual appropriation ordinance for the corporate purposes of the Village for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2007 and ending April 30, 2008. Roll call. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Koller, Barrington and Knapp voted aye. No nays. Motion carried. Village Improvements: Improvements are needed for the Village Hall entry and restroom. The pump house needs new windows. Sidewalk work is also needed at Rt. 91 & E. Main St. and in front of the jewelry store & bank on E. Main St. Trustee Knapp pursued bids from three construction businesses. Lopez Construction was the only one to respond with these bids: Village restroom - $1,872.00, pump house windows - $2,865.80, Entrance to Village Hall - $4,143.61, Sidewalk work at corner of Rt. 91 & E. Main St. - $1,615.00 and Sidewalk work at jewelry store/bank - $525.00 for a total of $11,021.41. Barrington suggested proceeding with the pump house windows and sidewalk work, then get more information on the restroom and hall entrance. Koller felt the concrete work was priced high. Motion made by Barrington and seconded by Rasmussen to award the pump house windows contract to Lopez Construction for $2865.80 minus the sales tax on materials. Roll call. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Koller, Barrington and Knapp voted aye. No nays. Motion carried. The board discussed putting a ramp in the Village Hall meeting room and tabling the other projects. Then a motion was made by Rasmussen and seconded by Barrington to award the Village Hall entrance improvements to Lopez Construction using cyprus wood not to exceed $4,143.61 minus sales tax on materials. Roll call. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Barrington and Knapp voted aye and Koller voted nay. Motion carried. These improvements will be paid from TIF 1 funds. Cutters Grove Parking: Trustee Barrington presented drawings to improve the parking at Cutters Grove Park. The area becomes quite congested during ball games. The shelter also needs bracing and a new roof. The property committee will be looking into improvements at the park. Abandoned Cars & Junk Yards: Elizabeth Larsen from Quinn, Johnston, Henderson & Pretorius is drafting letters to be sent to property owners with abandoned/unlicensed cars and/or trashed yards. A list of names and addresses will be sent to her. TIF 1 Business Renovations: Motion made by Rasmussen and seconded by Koller to approve payment to Princeville Automotive in the amount of $1,373.76 to install a new garage door and enclose other door space. Roll call. Sutherland, Rasmussen, Koller, Barrington, and Knapp voted aye. No nays. Motion carried. Another Princeville Automotive project for roof improvements has been sent to Steve Klein to see is it is eligible for TIF 1 Funds. Other projects applications are from Meatballs Restaurant, Phil’s Supermarket, Agency Partners Insurance and the Princeville Tap Restaurant. Superintendent of Public Works Report: He was not present.
